In 1997, we launched Music and the Brain in 16 schools in New York City. Since then, we have trained more than 450 teachers who, in turn, have taught more than 450,000 students. Today, we partner with 142 schools in all five boroughs of New York City (and over 300 nationwide) to enhance teachers’ knowledge and help their students build skills to succeed academically and in life. Music and the Brain has proven results in providing high-quality professional development to music teachers and empowering students to build academic, cognitive, fine motor, and social-emotional skills through music literacy and keyboard instruction. Your tax-deductible donation will help our teachers and students reach their full potential.
$6,000 brings the entire Music and the Brain program to a new partner school: a full keyboard lab that will be used by thousands of children over many years, engaging learning tools, proven curriculum, new teacher trainings, continued professional development for experienced teachers, and full use of our online learning platform Music and the Brain @Home.
$2,400 covers a full keyboard lab for a partner school (this includes 16 keyboards, 16 keyboard stands, and 32 headsets).
$1,000 supports the implementation of an enhanced virtual keyboard on our soon–to–be relaunched hybrid learning platform, Music and the Brain @Home, for improved student experience, better sound, and recording functionality.
$500 adds new song lessons to Music and the Brain @Home, allowing tens of thousands of students to keep playing throughout our hybrid learning reality.
$200 introduces our students to a Music Hero who shares inspiring video content with the Music and the Brain community.
$50 sponsors webinars and tele–mentoring that help teachers implement Music and the Brain @Home, a free online learning platform that gives kids access to Music and the Brain outside the classroom.
$20 gives one student their first year of Music and the Brain instruction, a cost-effective and scalable solution that addresses the lack of sufficient arts funding in schools.
