Big Shot

3 generations, 2 families, 1 American dream.

A fizzy and fast-moving personal dance theater narrative with a rollicking commissioned soundtrack!

The latest dance theater work from company-in-residence The Chase Brock Experience is inspired by Brock’s own family’s iconic Western North Carolina drive-in restaurant, Brock’s of Hendersonville, which ran 1949-1972. Brock’s serves as the central meeting point for this dynamic evening set to a brand-new jukebox score of 19 evocative pop songs created to underscore this danced story of two families striving for the American dream as America herself was losing her innocence.

“Chase Brock’s eclectic résumé includes “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark” on Broadway, “Roméo et Juliette” at the Met, and “Last Week Tonight With John Oliver.” He is a showman with an eye to a wide audience, and the work he has created for his own company reflects his sentimental storytelling bent.”
– The New York Times

“Brock’s sensibility is peppy, poppy, amped up with theatre-geek zeal.”
– The New Yorker
