MISTRESSES: a New American Play

MISTRESSES: A New American Play shares the untold stories of Presidential affairs in a timely exploration of what it means to be “The Other” woman.

Written and directed by Liz Linkewitz. This poignant piece is inspired by actual people and chronicles the infidelities which have shaped our country’s past. MISTRESSES showcases multiple confirmed Presidential affairs and highlights others which remain only as rumor. This new American drama blurs the lines our society draws between the political and personal, morality and indecency, love and lust. From a youthful Monica Lewinsky and her high-stakes relationship to Kay Summersby’s precarious romance with her commanding officer, this monologue play features women whose personal narratives rewrite history.

MISTRESSES: A New American Play was first staged at New York International Fringe Festival in 2019. In 2021, readings of the play were given at The Global Conference on Women & Gender and Hollywood Fringe Festival. Please Note: Performances will be presented as a professional workshop.
